Design Direction: As Exemplified through the Piano Accompaniment Page
This wireframe shows the proposed layout, typography, and color direction for your new Piano Accompaniment page. Everything here is placeholder content. Your real photos, videos, and copy will replace what you see, but the structure and visual identity are what I'm proposing for this side of your site.
Colors
I'm using the same five-color palette from the Mistral the Minstrel side of your site, but applying them differently to create a distinct feel. The dark green becomes the primary color here. It reads as refined and grounded, setting a more classical tone. The terracotta serves as an accent for buttons and highlights. The bright green provides pops of energy. You'll see it in the section labels and the navigation highlight. The cream stays as the background, and the dark brown handles text and the video section. This way both sides of the site feel like they belong together, but a visitor immediately senses they've moved into a different space.
Typography
The Mistral the Minstrel side uses blackletter-style fonts that are playful and character-driven, perfect for the Ren fair and performance audience. For the piano side, I'm proposing EB Garamond for headings, a classical, elegant serif that communicates musicianship and versatility. Body text uses Source Sans 3, a clean and highly readable sans-serif. The contrast between the two sides is intentional: same person, different context.
Layout
The page is structured as a services page with a clear flow: a hero section introducing you as a piano accompanist, six service cards (Ballet & Dance, Church & Synagogue, School Musicals, Hotels & Events, Weddings, and Private Sessions), a video section, an about section, and a contact call-to-action. The navigation ties into the full site structure — Home, Press Kit, Piano Accompaniment, Blog, Schedule — with a cross-link back to the Mistral the Minstrel side at the bottom.
Video Carousel
The horizontal video carousel you see in the mockup is a key piece of this project. On this page, it would feature videos specific to your piano accompaniment work. But the same system is designed to be used across your site, on the EPK page for easier management of your performance videos (replacing the current, complicated setup), and on the homepage as a TikTok feed showcasing your latest content. You'll manage all of it through Squarespace's CMS by just creating a simple entry for each video, without having to mess with formatting in the editor window like the current version.
