Currently booking for Spring 2026

You love your work.
Now others can feel it.

My job is to help the world see what you already are.

I make documentary video and build websites for people with a real craft, a genuine calling, or a mission worth sharing.

🛠 How I Work

Three ways to work together.

What I love about documentary is getting to see people as they actually are. Not performing, not pitching. Just doing the thing they enjoy.

Video can build trust in a way almost nothing else can. People see your face, your interest, your passion. Just doing the thing you're good at. And when they see that, they begin to trust you before they've ever met you. They make the call just to confirm that the person on screen is the person on the other end.

Video and web aren't two things. They're two expressions of the same question: what do people need to see to trust you?

🤝
The Club

An ongoing creative partnership. Not a project, not a vendor relationship. Web, brand, and video work handled consistently by someone who already knows your story and shows up invested in where you're going. Three membership tiers depending on how much you want running and how much you want to drive.

🎬
Video Work

Documentary-style video built around the real texture of your work: interviews, mini-docs, social content, story pieces. I think about where it lives and what it's supposed to make someone feel before picking up a camera. The goal is always the same: make people believe you before they've ever met you.

🌐
Website Work

Squarespace websites built around one question: what does this site need to make someone do? A full build, a strategic restructure, a page that isn't pulling its weight. The approach is the same regardless of scope. Start with what visitors need to believe, then build backwards from there.

📁 Selected Work

Real people. Real work. Made visible.

These are people with something worth knowing about! A practice, a mission, a story that wasn't being told well enough. That's what we fixed.

👋 About

I got into this because I genuinely love watching people do what they're made for.

I'm Chris Irr, a filmmaker and web designer based in Baltimore.

I've spent over twenty years making documentary work — in Boston, in LA, and in places I didn't expect to end up. I've filmed people on big stages and small ones. The subject matter has always changed. The thing I'm looking for never does — what makes this person tick, and how do I make sure someone watching actually feels it.

I started Recreational Aesthetics Club because I wanted to do this work on my own terms. Recreational, because it should feel like play. Aesthetics, because it still has to be beautiful. Club, because I don't want to do this alone — and I don't think you do either.

📬 Let's Talk

If any of this sounds like where you are, let's talk.

I do a free 30-minute call before anything else. Just a conversation to understand what you're working on and whether I'm the right person to help. Sometimes I am. Sometimes I'll tell you honestly if I'm not.
